As the 2024 Regular NFL season comes to a close, some teams are getting their teams ready for the NFL Playoffs. The New York Giants, are not one of those teams. After a horrific 3-14 Regular Season Record, the New York Giants have made their mark on their 100 year franchise history by having their worst season to date. Expectations were not tremendously high for this team following the departure of star running back, Saquon Barkley and safety, Xavier Mckinney, but to lose eleven of their last twelve games was agonizing.
Following a season of frustration of going through three starting quarterbacks and a numerous amount of players getting snaps on the defensive side of the ball due to injury, it made for a year of pure embarrasment. Many Questions arose of what the Giants Organization would do following this rough season.
The Verdict
It was announced Daboll and Schoen have been given the opportunity to keep their positions as head coach and general manager for at least one more season. Many were curious whether or not Daboll would be relieved of his head coaching duties or if Schoen was to be replaced by someone internally. The Mara family did not keep us waiting too long as Chairman John Mara announced that both will return for next season. Rumors among the organization are flurrying that Mara's tolerance is running thin and that this will be a big tell of what direction the New York Giants will go in for the future.
Schoen and Daboll have shown glimpses of being a good tandem and attempting to get the right players for the job. Schoen has been highly criticized for allowing Barkley to go to Philadelphia and extending former Giants' QB, Daniel Jones to a monster contract. Players such as Malik Nabers and Dexter Lawrence have displayed their support for head coach Brian Daboll as they believe he is not the issue.
